Authorisation was the start. The deadlines come every year.
Once you hold FCA limited permission, you owe an annual return, an annual attestation, and around £1,170 a year in fees. Miss the return and it costs £250 automatically. We keep track of it for free — or do the filing for you.
What your firm owes the FCA every year
None of this is difficult. All of it has deadlines, and all of it is easy to lose track of when running the business is the actual job.
CCR007 annual return
Submitted through the FCA's RegData system, due on a date fixed to your accounting reference date. Late submission carries a £250 administrative fee applied automatically, and persistent failure to report can put your authorisation at risk.
Annual firm details attestation
A yearly confirmation that the standing data the FCA holds about your firm is still correct. Short, but not optional.
Notifications when things change
Trading address, directors, legal structure, the individual holding the SMF29 function, or the activities you carry on. Some changes need a formal variation of permission rather than a notification.
The annual invoice
Issued from July, covering the FCA's periodic fee and the levies collected alongside it. Your first year after authorisation is charged pro rata to 31 March.
What it costs
| FCA periodic fee (CC1 fee block) | £1,100 |
| Financial Ombudsman Service general levy | £55 |
| Money guidance levy | £10 |
| Illegal money lending levy | £5 |
| Approximate annual total | £1,170 |
The £1,100 is flat until your consumer credit income passes £250,000, so it does not reduce for a smaller firm. Figures are for the 2026/27 FCA fee year, set out in FCA policy statement PS26/14; we review them each July when the FCA publishes new rates. These are paid to the FCA, not to us. The FCA's own fee calculator will give the figure for your firm.

What we don't do. We are not authorised or regulated by the FCA, and nothing we provide is regulated advice — these are administrative services and your firm remains responsible for its own compliance. We also don't act as anyone's SMF29: that function belongs to someone genuinely running your firm's compliance, and we'd suggest caution with any provider offering to hold it for you. We prepare the Form A or Form C when the person holding it changes.
Get your deadline calendar — free
Tell us your firm and your dates. We'll send back your CCR007 due date, your attestation month and when to expect your FCA invoice, then remind you before each one. Nothing to pay, and we won't chase you to buy anything.
Got it — your calendar is on its way.
We'll email it within one working day, from info@creditlicence.com. Worth checking your spam folder if nothing arrives.
It will show your CCR007 due date, your attestation month and when to expect your FCA invoice, and we'll remind you before each one.
Common questions
Do I have to have used you for my authorisation?
No. These services are open to any FCA-authorised limited permission consumer credit firm, whoever prepared the original application. Most of the firms we help with returns were authorised years ago.
What does the free calendar actually include?
Your CCR007 due date, your annual firm details attestation month, and when to expect your FCA invoice — all worked out from your own authorisation date and accounting reference date, with an email reminder before each one. There is no charge and no obligation to buy anything afterwards.
Is CreditLicence regulated by the FCA?
No. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. These are administrative services — preparing and submitting returns, tracking deadlines, keeping documents current. Your firm remains responsible for its own regulatory compliance, and nothing we provide is regulated advice.
What happens if I miss the CCR007 deadline?
The FCA applies a £250 administrative fee automatically, and continued failure to report can put your authorisation at risk. The deadline is fixed to your accounting reference date, so it is entirely predictable — which is why the free calendar exists.
Can you act as my SMF29?
No, and we would advise care with anyone who offers to. The limited scope function has to be held by someone genuinely running your firm’s compliance. We prepare and submit the Form A or Form C when the person holding it changes.
How much does the FCA charge each year?
For a limited permission consumer credit firm in 2026/27 the periodic fee is £1,100, flat until your consumer credit income passes £250,000, plus about £70 in levies — roughly £1,170 in total. That is paid to the FCA, not to us, and it is separate from any fee for our services.
